In May, the UK Government announced that nurseries and education settings could resume their full service from the 1st June 2020. Since this news, we at Humpty Dumpty pre-school have been putting measures in place to safely welcome children back into our early years setting. We're committed to providing safe childcare for parents and children within the Southend Borough, during these uncertain times.

We have put a great deal of safeguarding measures in place to protect children, staff and parents attending sessions at our pre-school.
Below you'll find a list of the steps we have introduced to minimise the risk of transmission of Coronavirus. These measures include those in place during picking up and dropping off children at our pre-school.

Measures include:
-
Health and safety checks.
-
Fire alarm procedures adapted.
-
Social distancing enforced between parents, staff and visitors (not the pre-school children),
-
Regular and thorough hand washing.
-
Surfaces and floors cleaned after every use - particular attention given to frequently touched areas and surfaces (such as bathrooms, grab-rails in corridors and door handles),
-
Every parent and child entering our setting is asked to sanitise before touching - specifically during pick up and drop-offs.
-
Children are in small groups, kept at a safe distance within the setting.
-
Area dividers introduced to help to keep children in different parts of the setting.
-
Health checks and screening for children, staff and visitors.
-
Personal protective equipment.
If you would like more information on these measures, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. We're also able to provide a copy of our COVID-19 policy with details of the conditions and considerations to ensure we are minimising the risk of transmission of Coronavirus - formed using guidance from the Department for Education, Ofsted, and The Public Health of England.
