About Us
Established in 1993, Humpty Dumpty pre-school has been providing quality childcare and education to children living in Southend-on-Sea for over twenty-five years. We've been actively offering support to young children aged between two to four years old within the local area to give them the best possible start to their social development and education. During these years, we have consistently achieved a "Good" OFSTED rating and helped many children transition into local schools.
Operating from a church hall situated in central Southend-on-Sea, our pre-school is easily accessible to parents and children within the Southend Borough. We work to a "key person" system whereby every child in our care has a dedicated, experienced practitioner helping them to reach their full potential. And, we have a fully enclosed area for safe and secure outdoor play, where children can explore and discover.
As well as supporting the children in our care, we also offer help to parents through daily discussions and by sharing ideas on how to continue their children's education at home. As part of the government-funded scheme, we can offer 15 hours of free education and care for two and three-year-olds too.
Humpty Dumpty pre-school is registered with Southend Council, Ofsted and Social Services. We're also proud to be a part of the ‘A Better Start Southend' programme.
Our Mission
At Humpty Dumpty, our mission is to encourage the children in our care to learn through play, supporting them at each stage of development, and helping them to build positive relationships with peers, parents and their "key person" at the pre-school.
Our primary focus is providing a quality standard of care by following the 'Every Child Matters' agenda and the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. Offering a safe, relaxed, caring and stimulating indoor and outdoor environment where children can learn and thrive.
